“Croydon. It’s populated with predominantly low-income folks."

Just chuckling at Charlton
The center of Croydon might be a bit down market although Luton makes it look like Brighton however most of the out lying areas such as Sutton, Shirley or Bromley are not. I think confusion is with SE25 which, although is comes under Croydon Council (along with Norbury I think) is actually in London whilst Croydon is in Surrey.

We take the urine but Moulescombe and Whitehawk are pretty grim and there's noting too great about Portslade and Southwick either.

Parts of Sutton are not that great either to be fair bhae, but as is the norm every fairly big place has its nice and its grotty areas, nowhere is immune

“A lot of dark-skinned people live there,” Rebrov said. “So naturally the crime rate is higher than anywhere else. It’s not nice to be a robbery victim. So I suggest that Roman doesn’t walk but drives around that area.”

That was a nice comment I thought.

This may not be a popular view, but I lived in Addiscombe for 12 years and I actually like Croydon. It's easy to get to London or Brighton day or night, the new tram system is great and there are all the big shops you could want. The council has money to spend on arts projects/spanking new library etc. You can find interesting pubs/restaurants etc lurking behind the Spoonses and the Yateses.

I hate ghettos of any sort, whether they are race ghettos, religious ghettos, age ghettos, wealth ghettos, yuppy ghettos or gay ghettos. I found Croydon to be pretty mixed considering.

How the feck did you end up supporting these no marks then Brovion?!
 ;)

My Dad was a Palace fan from Thornton Heath as was his Dad before him. (Indeed Grandad actually saw Palace before they played at Selhurst Park in a place called The Nest). My mum was secretary of the Palace Supporters' Club for a while and my first football match was at Selhurst Park in 1964 or 1965. I have Palace in my BLOOD!

I then moved to Sussex and realised they were a load of shite. :D

firstly i would say i would not like to be stuck with you in a boozer.

secondly he may come from a culture that is unfamiliar with migrant communities and the poverty associated with inner cities, not to mention what is acceptable language in this country. i would take your very smug liberal stance as proving you far less aware or accomodating to cultural differences than you would like to think, based on your pompous little tirade.

as for stupidly scared, i expect a middle class bloke like you would just breeze down the seven sisters road at night high fiving black people without a care in the world eh?

What a strange thing to ask...erm, well I wouldn't ever really high five anyone. but nor would I honestly be walking around thinking "Ooh, I'm SCARED, there's lots of THEM here!" either.

The feeling about the pub is quite mutual btw - it's a really nice idea but, to be honest, I just can't see a huge amount of point. I mean, if a post about 40 words came across like a "tirade", I can't exactly imagine that the conversation would be up to much, put it that way... :D

What road LusH?

I am afraid to say that Addi is careering from a nice area to a semi-dodgy place.

i don't think there is anything wrong with his comment. he is obviously from a different culture so may not realise (or care) how liberals in this country would be offended if he starts speaking some truths.

to be honest, i've been in parts of tottenham that are exceptionally unpleasant in the day time, and i wouldn't dream of walking around there alone at night.

and croydon, of course it's a shit hole. i've been out there a few times with mates who live in the area and it's very hostile. the first time i went clubbing there we boarded the night bus afterwards and a black kid with an AXE got on and set about my mate with it.

your post is obviously meant to be sneeringly superior , dripping with sarcasm , unfortunately , this sort of "joke" is wearing thin with most people , who unlike you , dont walk around with blinkers on.

I'm sorry I'm not as well balanced as you - I don't have a chip on each shoulder.

And i love the way you claim to speak for most people.
