Great ground but lacking the little touches seen at other grounds ..ie decent scoreboard and Tvs in the concourse whilst having a beer .. not sure if have in other parts of ground ..but certainly not in away end

I wasn't impressed when I went a couple of years ago. Its a soulless, dull stadium. Neat and tidy, but absolutely no distinguishing features whatsoever. One tier all the way round, nothing special. I've heard St Marys is exactly the same, except the seats are a different colour.

Some modern stadiums are impressive (Stadium of Light, Pride Park, Madejski), but grounds like Leicesters just leave me cold.

Definitely one of the more characterless of the new stadiums. I don't think it's the bowl design itself that's the problem, more the finishing touches.

Thats why Falmer will be good. It's design means it will have character rather than just being a dull boring modern stadium. The way the main stand will dominate over the other stands should create a great atmosphere.

Personally I'll be happy with a stadium - dull, bland, featureless, no scoreboards, no beer - don't care.

Just give us a stadium.

That is super, but I bet you would kill to have one like Leicester, rather than Withdean?

ANYTHING is better than Withdean, so thats not saying much. But given a straight choice between the Goldstone and Leicesters ground, I'd choose the Goldstone.

Probably because they were skint when it was finished, and could not afford the "extras". Did you see the cheap plastic screening and banners around the top edges? :lolol:

Of the new ones it is not the worst. As we had to sit last night, at least their was leg room. Only annoying thing with those silly spiral staircases to get to the seated area.
Its just a functional stadium though, isn't it ? Nothing special, just "does exactly what it says on the tin". A new stadium is normally something to relish and look forward to visiting, but I was very disappointed with the crisp bowl. Of course its infinately better than what we've got at the moment, but if Falmer was of a similarly dull design as Leicesters ground, it wouldn't be anywhere near as EXCITING.

But that is the case with a lot of them. Huddersfields was touted as some piece of architectual genius when it opened, but it looks dated now and when Falmer / Sheepcote / Mars Stadium opens, it will look good for a while and then just become functional.

Not really bothered if it is exciting, I would like a ground, with a roof and be able to sit with my mates rather than some of the numpties that occupy Withdean.

In a pile of football shirts
When we went there last year the stewards told us that there is no beer in the Away section because previously Wolves fans had rushed the bar, jumped over the counter and stole beer, hence the safety officer banned beer sales to away fans.

it beggars belief that anyone can describe the walkers stadium as poor when it has this plastered onto the wall outside it

We should have one just like that, but with CKR and a big Coke logo. They could pay us a big fat wedge for putting it there.
