It is little wonder that Gus was annoyed in his interview as 2 of the 3 Wolves goals should have been avoided. The first arguably was a well worked goal. The 2nd was a terrible lunge tackle by Dunk that missed and the 3rd was a cross which a number of players should have been able to cut out the 2 central defenders, as that is their job, and Calderon who was beaten to the header. As Gus said 3 points yesterday were easy and there for the taking.

I watched the highlights and could have sworn it was Greer that missed the header, not Calde

I agree with what he said, his players have let him down over the last few weeks missing penalties, guilt edged chances and today conceding in injury time. He cannot do anything about those things. The way he has set the team up to attack, create chances and win is pretty much spot on isn't it?

A logical and obvious assessment, lost on too many people; they'd rather hear tedious platitudes and prepared gibberish.

Plus, there are people who take things FAR too literally. English is Gus' second or third language, and he is still using it more imaginatively and in a more colourful manner than many whose first language it is.

I think that we have established earlier in the thread that it was Greer and I was mistaken in thinking it was Calderon. Also as an addition to TLO view about this being Gus 2nd or 3rd language I would agree as I sometimes find it difficult to understand exactly what he is saying, so I would assume do reporters.

Sorry, but for their second goal bridders ball to dunk was at fault - no way was dunk going to get there, similar mistake to west ham at home last season.

He speaks a colourful English with verve and imagination, rather than the dull, thudding, predictable English of many in the media, and many on here.

For me, it's perfectly intelligible, except the unintelligible bits due to poor diction, of course.

Don't have the time to read through every post.

Spot on may arse? What responsibiltiy should Gus take? He set out the team to win the game and he nailed it but for poor finishing again. Fack sake. Have a think!!

There we go you said it "poor finishing again". Gus has bought the vast majority of the squad so surely he should take some of the responsibility of these poor finishers, if he doesn't and he keeps blaming everyone else he may just lose the dressing room in time.

A manager is only a great one when he is under pressure, i look forward to seeing how Gus does.

I believe Gus was used as a Italian/English translator for Ranieri at Chelsea until he picked up a bit of English. Sometimes he says things that would make sense in Spanish but when put it into English it gets lost in translation.
