Crawley v Moor Green

Was treated to hospitality at Crawley last night and thoroughly enjoyed myself - despite a dire first half.

Moor Green needed to win 2 - 0 but seemed to have come for the draw. Their centre forward was no better than me, and they didn't seem to have anyone better on the bench as he lasted the whole 90 minutes!

2 good goals won it for Crawley, and a flowing move towards the end would have been the best goal I'd seen all season if it had gone in, but sadly, the Moor Green keeper was playing well.

Got a sneaky peek at the Championship trophy before the game, too. It's MASSIVE!! They'll do well to get round a lap of honour carrying that on Monday night. I likened it to a table top. A big table top!

Steve Duly almost lost the trophy last night in the celebrations, as he got mobbed by everyone trying to "lay their hands" on the cup.

I truly hope they do well next season. They are a well run club and the current management team were very supportive of us over Falmer. They also have a good bunch of fans who have now made me very welcome twice this season.

What did this consist of?!

Chicken nuggets, scampi and chips
Profiteroles
Coffee at half time (the tea went a.w.o.l.)
A programme
Seat behind the dug-outs
Meeting the players and club officials before and after the game
Choosing the man of the match

We had to pay for our own beer and raffle tickets!

Good on 'em. A fine double for Sussex's second best team.

If we get promoted and Lewes win through their playoffs, this will surely be Sussex football's most successful season...

The win last night meant they were the first side to win the Southern League Championship and Southern League Cup since Wimbledon did it in 1976, and the first side to retain the Southern League Cup since Dartford did it in 1989.

You are such a miserable f***ing twat aren't you, must remember not to bother supporting your call for a stupid new stadium and not to support the REMF night now. People like you piss people off with your one-sided views and cause people like me to rethink what my plans were for Friday. Now my kids and I won't bother putting money into this worthy fund as we won't come on Friday because you are such a twat who obviously has a problem with other teams being successful.

Championes, Championes, ole ole ole!!!

Crawley fans were helpful to us on National Falmer Day, and have been supportive to the REMF.

Ignore the small minority like Gary Mechan.

Coming from the finer part of North Sussex I generally sneer at any part of Crawley, South London.

However I am deeply hypocritical and shop at County Mall, go to the Cinema and eat at the Lesiure Complex and i have now vowed to go and watch Crawley next season in the conference.

Congratulations Reds for a fine acheivement.

Sussex - County of Champions!!!!!

If there were no other teams to play against we would have nothing to do on a Saturday afternoon.

It is the grassroots level of football that makes the Football League what it is.

Every place or team has a right to try and climb the football ladder. Crawley have done just that. They have won their league and take their rightful place in the Conference. They can build on that and in 5 years could become a league team.

Quite clearly I am a Brighton fan. There is more to football than Brighton. If you misunderstand this point go back to paragraph one:jester:
