There's an interesting letter from a J.Courtney too, suggesting that the stadium should be built underground "so the needs of the great unwashed masses of football fans can be gently hidden."
I can't see the grass growing myself. :lolol:

I heard that Broadfield was the actual plan B if Falmer goes tits up at one point. I think theyd be glad of the investment now, and the ground wouldnt take too much to redevelop.

The Crawley supporters are in the throes of setting up a Supporters Trust at the moment.

They have been lied to constantly by the SA Group, who own(ed) the club and have completely sold them down the river.

I think that they should be offered any assisstance possible. They already have Wimbledon, Exeter and other trusts helping out.

The last thing we or they would want is a merger. Let's hope someone comes along to rescue them pretty sharpish, as they'll now be starting next season with a 10 point handicap.

Edit:

The Majeeds / SA Group own the Saqquara Bar in North Street. Let's not go there, eh, and discourage others from going there.
Likewise, Bar Cena in Burgess Hill must now be a no-go area.
Also Ja Ja bar in Crawley.

Anyone know any other businesses they own that need to go on the boycott list.

By the way, I understand that while the club was going into administration, Chas Majeed was taking delivery of a brand new Koenigsegg (the fastest car ever around the Top Gear track). Tosser. :censored: :censored: :censored:

How long before someone from LDC gets hold of this thread? Be careful, be very careful. After what happened with Wimbledon/MK Dons, I wouldn't put it past the FA to bend the 9 miles from B and H rule. Even if they didn't, do you think LDC would really care about this rule?

the saqqara bar is also shit, so i now have two reasons for not going there

I thought it probably was, to be honest. The only establishment of theirs I've knowingly been in is Bar Cena, and I thought that was pretty poor, too.

Well said, but if I was a Crawley fan, I would also be very angry with the previous owners who sold out to the Majeeds without doing the minimum of checks to see the kind of disastrous businessmen they are. The fans were totally sold down the river in that deal. Let's hope Dick Knight keeps his nerve and never hands over the Albion to similar big-talking chancers like that.

Brighton and Hove and Crawley Albion, doesn't quite have any sort of ring to it.

I thought that Crawley Council were against us playing at Broadmead, for whatever reason or other, think the club are still bitter that they think we robbed them over gate receipts from our FA Cup game all those years ago, which in fairness we probably did!

For the 8 millionth time;

As part of the planning permission the council (which was very supportive of the club) agreed that CT would be the only tennants of the stadium. This was to meet the concerns of local residents who feared being inundated with soccer hooligans.

Therefore regardless of the clubs or councils opinion the groundshare is a non-starter.

Incidently Crawley recently did a similar thing with Braintree. regarding gate receipts. Hopefully CTFC can get out of this mess.

It is a non-starter for us, but I would think Crawley Council may now be a little less fussy about who can use it... else it may well become a white elephant (if Crawley Town goes down the tubes - let's hope not)...
