An award winning multi-purpose stadium is a different kettle of fish to a host of well paid footballers. I'd say they are at different ends of the investment spectrum.

You are of course correct BOF, but my point is both have invested into their respective clubs, with good intent, not how Tom hark says laundering money.

f*** me it's like a stuck record, Bruce Winfield pumped a lot of money into the club, much like Tony Bloom he was a life long fan and involved in the club for decades.
When Bruce died his wife Silpa Winfield has carried on with that investment.
My sauce is my uncle, who was Bruce's very best friend.

So it's not syphoned out of the airports accounts then? :lolol:

Crawley v Pompey. Now that's a funny one!

And would only be made funnier if it was a JPT tie. You know, that competition that Portsmouth fans derided us for

I'm certain any money laundering would have been uncovered! Maybe he is referring to the player sales.

If there was any money laundering, I'm certain Steve Evans might have been tempted to stay...

They'll not be anywhere near the championship let alone the premier league.
And as for laundering money, you need to get back what you are paying in, and I think that is very unlikely with crawley town and their tiny gates, don't you think ?
Let's be honest, Silpa winfield funding their wage bill, isn't really that different from Tony Bloom spunking a million pound on our stadium, neither are likely to get their money back unless you hit the premier league.

For the record, I never mentioned money laundering once, whereas you seem to have mentioned it half a dozen times. I meant more that there has been dirty laundry associated with that club for years now, and it is only natural that people look a bit funny at all this continuous improvement on the meagre gates that Crawley get. I have no doubt whatsoever that the current owner is pumping money in for all the right reasons, and I wish her nothing but well. But its hardly a sustainable business model is it? Tony Bloom may have been pumping money into the new stadium, but he's a shrewd businessman who could reasonably expect to see a sound return on his investment at some point in future. Hard so see how Crawley's owner will be able to do the same given the current woeful level of support for a team that is on the up and at a decent level of football. Like I say, I wish her well.

Yeah of course
If that's what you meant why did you feel it "prudent" to edit your post ? It's common knowledge of the dirty laundry as you put it, the Majeeds f***ed them over just like Archer and Bellotti f***ed us over, would you feel it "prudent" to watch what you write about those fucktards ?
Crawley get a fair bit of criticism, a lot of it unwarranted in my opinion, ok Steve Evans was a crooked arsehole that couldn't lie straight in a coffin but he's gone, Richie Barker will do a good job down there, and ok the investment is unsustainable but you could say the same about a lot of clubs, if Abramovich pulled his money ou,t Chelsea would be up shit creek without the proverbial paddle.
In Crawley Towns case their biggest problem is the speed they have risen through the leagues, they don't have a history of playing league football, and haven't had the time to build a decent fanbase, if they can sustain their level for another four or five years I think you'll see their crowds increase, I doubt they'll ever get the fanbase that we enjoy, but we've had over 100 years in the league.
I really don't get the anti Crawley feeling on here, they don't care about us, do we really give them a second thought rivalry wise ? I certainly don't.

Had a drive about crawley around midday on way to picking somebody up from Gatwick, no sign of and trouble. Might take a detour back through on the way back

Nothing much of trouble at the ground, although a strange policy of ejecting pompey fans without shirts? After the first goal a crawley fan ran to the away fans in the seats and swung at one of them in front of the stewards who did nothing at all! Great vocal support from pompey nothing in the way of support from crawley:moo:
