Are you being serious? The worst manager England & Liverpool have had in the modern era. A professional self-promoter most of which was myth and he was found out every time he took an 'elite' job. However he is clearly intelligent and had a very good vocabulary and delivery style which 90% of his target audience lapped up thinking he was some kind of trail blazer, it was mainly bollocks. The football manager equivalent of Jacob Reece-Mogg.
I predict a very high chance of that happening. 110% nailed on.So after making banners about Roy’s weak decisions on the pitch and screaming for him to go, now they’ve got their wish, what are the chances of them making some sort of ‘thanks Roy, we loved you really’ banner for their next home game?
In England maybe but his influence on Swedish football in the 70s and 80s can't be understated. He is credited with changing the way the game was played at club level over there. He also did very well with Switzerland when he was their manager, got the to a World Cup Final for the first time in nearly 30 years when they got to USA '94 (they qualified from a group also containing Italy and Portugal), he got them through the group stages as well before they were knocked out at the last 16 by Spain. At one stage they were ranked inside the top 5 by FIFA too.Absolutely this. I just can't get what others see in Hodgson. He was utter utter garbage as the England manager and even worse at Liverpool. Probably the only half decent job he did was at Fulham.
Let’s see.sadly i think that is a good appointment.
We probably thought the same about Patrick Vieira but they sacked him at the first sign of a wobble. The Always Ultras will be on his back as soon as they have a few bad results and Beaky will crumble cause he's a soft shite who doesn't like thinking the black clad boys brigade aren't happy with him.sadly i think that is a good appointment.
I also had no beef with him, and I hope he recovers and enjoys a lovely retirement in luxury....and stay away from football, Roy!I applaud the longevity of Roy Hodgson. Fantastic that he managed clubs on many countries.
Always seemed a level headed man and I wish him well.
They'd have been better off appointing this bloke he's got more relevant European experience that they'll need.A shrewd appointment, his European level experience will be especially useful to them as they negotiate their first ever European tour.
