Very much he Villa way

Keep throwing money at it , keep buying large numbers

Hoping it will get them into the top half. Which is the best they can really hope.

To be the best of the rest and compete with Wolves / Leicester ( hopefully us )

To be fair - they did sell a youth player for £100M which probably helps the coffers. Although the year before they were already losing £30M more than us,

On £380k a week. So about £8m for half a seasons football from him. They aren’t going down and highly unlikely to be top 7 so hard to see what the benefit is beyond having him play for a small amount of time.

Doubt very much they're paying it all, would be surprised if more than 30% is being contributed.

It has to be enough to pay Ferran Torres' wages, as that's kind of the point of the loan.

Edit: I note that Sky Sports are now reporting that Villa are interested in signing Bissouma too...

Its a fantastic signing, and makes sense if they are only paying a % of his wages.

We operate under a different model of course. As exciting as it would be to have Coutinho here on loan, he would only be taking the place of one of our own players and potentially stymying the progress and development of the likes of Moder, MacAllister and Mwepu. It would be an exciting short-term boost, but at the expense of the development of the team IMO. I like the fact we so rarely bring in loans nowadays, they are very hit and miss and you don't always get the commitment.

Thats not to say I won't be casting envious glances when he turns out for Villa. He was a wonderful player last time I saw him, if he's still got anything like that kind of form in him then he'll light up that side.

Didn’t they spend it all on Buendia, Ings and Bailey, not to mention another £100m the season before? Their transfers seem to be as good as Everton’s, might change with ‘yeah of course’ in charge.

They also believe that Lamptey would fit it nicely there, and who could resist leaving to join such a successful and massive club?

Coutinho and Eden Hazard are the best opposition players I’ve seen at the Amex

It's a massive coup, can only see big things for Villa now. Huge excitement in the Birmingham area and rightly so.
