Boy what a lovely day out in BN2 today, would have been great to have had a home fixture today. Lets hope its like this next Tuesday or Lanky may be blaming the weather for poor performances from the off.

The ommission of Hoppo from this match doesn't bode well for him in terms of next week... I'd say that Rory H-B and Gatting can both make a case for starting against Lancs next week. Gatting seems to be at the front of the queue at the moment, and a decent knock in this match should see him selected at number 4 for that match.

Once we get all the Visas etc sorted out we should have a half decent team for the 1st county game:

1. MH Yardy
2. CD Nash / D Smith
3. EC Joyce
4. JS Gatting / RJ Hamilton-Brown / C Hopkinson
5. M Prior +
6. LJ Wright
7. RSC Martin-Jenkins
8. OP Rayner
9. RG Aga / C Liddle
10. C Collymore
11. D Wright

Have I forgotten anyone (who's fit)?

I think Nash is a certain starter, it just depends where. Whilst Prior is around he can bat at 5, but Hodd will need to come in at 6.

Not really sure Luke Wright is a guaranteed starter, oddly.

Also Lewry if fit is bound to play.

The coming of age of Ollie Rayner will more than make up for the loss of Mushy.

It's a very tough side to pick but if everyone can get fit and ready we look strong, it's just getting them fit, especially in Lewry's case.

I'm toying with this line-up, but perhaps with Prior available for the 1st 4 games (2 championship matches) perhaps we will go with another all-rounder and trust the top 5 (Move Prior up to 5) to get all the runs, so I'll change it to:

1 MH Yardy
2 CD Nash
3 EC Joyce
4 M Goodwin
5 M Prior +
6 D Smith
7 LJ Wright
8 RSC Martin-Jenkins
9 OP Rayner
10 D Wright
11 C Collymore

With the extra batsman (Hoppo / RHB / Gatting) included at 5 when Hodd is keeping.

I can't see why Prior would bat as low as 6, and also below Nash. If Nash isn't opening, I'd go for another batsman or all-rounder instead. Does Dwayne Smith open for Barbados?
