Perversely Somerset's best chance of winning, is probably an early Yorkshire collapse, leading to them shutting up shop. Middlesex need to steadily take wickets, but need Yorks to still be in with a shout.

Yep. Not only do they have no fielding restrictions but the leg side wide is not guaranteed to be called.

There are new playing conditions that make that less likely.

25 Law 25 – Wide Ball25.1 Law 25.1 will apply but in addition:
25.1.1 For bowlers attempting to utilise the rough outside a batsman’s leg stump, not necessarily as a negative tactic, the strict Limited Over Wide interpretation shall be applied.
25.1.2 For bowlers whom Umpires consider to be bowling down the leg side as a negative tactic, the strict Limited Over Wide interpretation shall be applied.

They probably will -s long as the game remains balanced. Middlesex would obviously rather finish 2nd than 3rd though, so if they reach a situation where it looks like they CAN'T win, they could try to slow the game down.

Unlikely though - its near impossible to shut a game down as the fielding side - easy as the batting side.
