Over-priced, over-crowded, poor quality food and surly service. Do not go here. Sorry, but two bad experiences in the last two years.

Must admit have not been there for a while - shame.

Try Upper Beading, plenty of nice pubs there.

I have heard similar. We went to one in Barcombe, cant remember the name, near Chailey on the river food and beer were good but it was busy as you would expect.

In a pile of football shirts
Queens Head in West Chiltington, Sportsman at Amberley, or the Rising Sun in Nutbourne.

Complete tosh and rubbish. This bloke comes from Kent for gawds sake and has no idea. The Shepherd and Dog still maintains its charm beautiful setting and superb cuisine.

If you can get out there do. Better still catch as bus to the Dyke and walk to the pub and back. The walk sharpens the appetite and the walk back helps gets rid of the glorious excesses.

If busy try the Royal Oak in Poynings.

My latest find in the Forresters Arms, Fairwarp. Its a bit further away but the food is THE best. Having said that we are normally lazy and end up somewhere like the Juggs or the Bull.

Agree. Went there a couple of years ago and was really disappointed with it. It used to be a great pub but now seems aimed at those with more money than taste.

The Griffin Inn at Fletching is the dog's bollocks. It's not the cheapest place but it's good food and decent beer

Yew Tree in Arlington, Great place, very good menu and good portions !.

Good choice but always busy, less well known but in the same area, The Yew Tree at Chalvington is also very good, huge garden /patio area, kids playground and the cricket pitch adjoins, chances are there might be a game on to watch
Food is excellent and a good choice of ales.
