I find this a bit strange, and crushingly depressing - that the 'spoof candidate' has some policies more sensible, and more in line with public opinion than the major parties.

(I'm really not sure what it means for Binface though - what is he seeking to BE? )

I mean - who could argue against:

1. Holding Thames Water to account
3. Affordable food
5. Affordable housing
12. Promoting respectful behaviour on public transport
13. Giving back the stolen Greek loot
14. Capping ministerial pay / looking after the nurses
19. Properly taxing the Royal Family / Russian money in London
22. Discouraging antisocial behaviour in theatres, cinemas
23. Scrapping unnecessary voter ID legislation
He didn't go far enough in acknowledging The Winkleman's fringe.

In all seriousness I don’t understand the London election, Khan has apparently brought London to its knees, yet he’s 30% ahead in the polls 🤷‍♂️

Binface aside, are the alternatives that bad?

It just shows that you shouldn’t believe everything you read in a largely right-wing press.

London is fine, the Mail et al relies on people from the Shires not wandering in to see for themselves to peddle its nonsense.

30% you say. Perchance it’s because Londoner’s think he’s doing a good job?

Yes, the alternatives are awful. Khan is a snake and bringing in stealth taxes, mostly disguised as environmental initiatives through unneeded and sinister LTNs and CPZ's that are only really hurting the poorest in the city, to try and save an essentially bankrupt TFL and councils. His extended ULEZ scheme is clearly a precursor to pay per mile in the future as no way they would invest that much money in infrastructure for cars that will organically phase out over the next few years. However, that Tory woman is a horrendous bigot and the Libs candidate is almost invisible so Khan will win by default. I'll be sadly voting binface!

Thing is...... the 'Khan has brought London to its knees' trope is just a made-up fact, invented by some other party. I forget their name. Totty? Something.

Made up facts are a bit like made-up drugs.

Who says he's brought London to its knees? Look at the source of that opinion, which may explain a lot.
Read @clapham_gull posts who actually lives in London, to gauge a more balanced view.

It is a little know fact that Labour's secret agenda is to punish the poor, making them weak and ill, homeless and eventually dead.
Simply so that Labour 'so called' politicians can laugh at them, as they die, while swigging fine wines. Fact.

And there is No Alternative, because the Tories are only interested in murdering immigrant babies and eating them. Also fact.

And people wonder why Ordinary Men and Women and their Children are sick to death of it.

Do you live in London? It's not as bad as often presented but it's definitely not fine. The support systems that used to help the working classes have pretty much gone (leading to significant risk of people turning to crime), property and rent is completely unaffordable to the cities youth, and councils are trying to raise funds through any charges they can dream up such as described above to try and stave off bankruptcy. Khan is going to win by default as he's probably the only candidate that anyone really knows. There has been almost no campaigning by the Libs, and no one wants to vote for a tory.

If the tiny number of people with cars that don’t meet ULEZ standards got one that did then Khan wouldn’t make a penny AND the London air would be the cleanest it’s been for decades.

For 12.50 a day they could probably lease one.

ULEZ has already improved the air quality in London by a noticeable and measured amount. It's also not a tax on the poorest, if you can afford a car then you can afford to run a car you can afford one that's ULEZ compliant.

But like all politicians, it's just a wishy-washy promise. He says he'll pledge to move it to a more sensible position - but crucially doesn't say where, or how he will decide this. Lacking in detail - such a failing.
It’s less a wishy-washy promise, more a wishy-dryie one.

I'm not holding up much up for Binface I'm afraid.

With the utterly useless Hall and Khan heading for a record victory, the big game in town would have been Binface versus Fox.

On that basis I would have happily voted for him. Seeing Fox humiliated is never a wasted vote.

Unfortunately Fox can't fill a form in correctly.
I absolutely love how Fox genuinely believes he speaks at the very least for a large silent minority, yet gets annihilated every time he stands for an election, wasting more and more of his inherited money,. The man's an arse.

Morning squire. I don't know what they have done down there, apart from annoy gammon over multiple bins and parking restrictions, and keep being re-elected.

I am not a fan of the Greens myself, largely because they seem to have even more unfit front bench aspirants than the main 3 parties. That crazy Australian woman for example, I mean, Christ. :lolol:

They could even sell the old car and make some money. I reckon there must be a firm out there that will literally buy any car. It’s right on the tip of my tongue..

Exactly. Currently it's only the poorest that are penalised as they cant afford new cars, and then when those cars are gone the system will need a new way to cover the cost of the massive investment and its all ready been stated the tech can manage pay per mile . It doesn't affect me at all at the moment I drive an electric car, but I see the misery it is causing some of the parents at our childrens school that struggle to make ends meet and now CPZs are being introduced to roads that have no parking problems.
