Just seen this and although I'm not so sure of how much truth there is in it, you never know.

Tottenham Hotspur - Striker set for loan
03 Feb 2006 14:30

Tottenham are ready to let young striker Lee Barnard head out on loan after Brighton confirmed their interest in the talented young hitman.

The 21-year-old has just signed a new two-year contract and has been in prolific form for the reserves over the last two seasons, setting a club record 17 goals last season and breaking that record earlier this week.

Barnard has plundered 14 goals in his last seven reserves games and Spurs are keen to get him playing competitively.

Previous loan spells with Exeter, Leyton Orient, Northampton and Stevenage have yielded just one goal but after working with development coach Clive Allen over the last year he has come on in leaps and bounds and a move to the Championship is seen as the next step in his progress.

Yes it did!

Thanks ! I always check these links when I post them and it opened for me. Be that as it may I'm not convinced about the accuracy of this site as only this morning they annouced that Shiperly wasn't coming here.

I may be clutching at straws here and even if Barnard does come here he'll have even more of a burden of expectation than CKR.

Sadly, a lot of Club Call stories are completely made up, so I wouldn't get hopes up. My mate used to work for them and they used to literally pluck names out of a hat and write stories on them. But you never know....

Hey, 14 goals in 7 reserve games aint bad. More than Trolley's ever scored anyway :dunce:

Have you seen the amount of midfielders Spurs have?
I've a feeling he probably got pretty good service, no offence to Hammond et al

Got to be worth a punt. If he is scoring for Spurs in the reserves and they like him enough to give him a 2-year deal then there must be something in it,

Good point. Spurs ain't short of strikers so if the lad was not upto it they would never have given him a 2 year contract!

Plymouth are also now being linked with a Barnard loan move! Hopefully the fact that we ae just down the road from London might make the Albion a more attractive option for the youngster.
