This is by no means a moan at TB but it could be possible that players agents have seen that he has ploughed 96mill in and asume that we are the Man city of league 1.Then they are asking unrealistic wage demands on the club for there players ,quite rightly we have refused im sure if some have not been fixed up now we might be in a better situation to to get deals at last minute. I think Mr calderons wages are a lot lower than he first demaned after the southhampton debarcle.

Could be. But I imagine he is an astute business man. Which is why we are not sign many players at the moment. We will not be held to ransom.

Not a bad shout actually! I have a feeling we will pick up players that may have turned us down earlier in the summer. But then what do I know.

I think its a factor, yes. I wouldn't be at all surprised if clubs, players and agents are completely taking the piss out of us in terms of their demands. A side-effect of that magnificent stadium going up with NO outside borrowing at all to fund it feeds the perception that TB is an enormous cash cow just waiting to be milked.

i rather think the targets havent been interested, probably more willing to stay or got to a "bigger" club than take a chance on us and our work in progress. the striker shold have been the first priority and frnakyl spend a little their, to show intent.

Interesting reading Bennett's comments in the Argus, having first seen Falmer and then Withdean.

I wonder if young prospects looking at a 2-3 year deal can not see beyond this season, to next. If you were a 21 year old prospect and everyone was telling you had good you were, you might be telling yourself, one good season at this level, next step the premiership.

Older players and ones for the future can maybe be a little more realistic.

What so we could have ended up with the crap team but a great striker. Think it through. Gus has built the spine of a VERY good side and he will add to the squad and eventually get the striker he wants, however it may not be in this transfer window!

I would say that's at least part of the problem, as well as Poyet wanting to find the right type of player. The trouble is, if we sucumb to one agents ridiculous demands then we'll have to sucumb to them all.

I think this is an accumulation of things, being realistic
1. The money thing yes agents etc are trying to milk the Albion, but if you add to that, we currently play in a crap ground which is capable of making or breaking a player, we were relegation candidates for a large part of last season, we have an untried inexperienced manager, who, by the way, i have complete confidence in, but I'm not a player, there is a lot of things for any player to weigh up let alone one that has something to bargain with.
Me, I think the Albion will be in or around the play offs this season, I travel to virtually every away game in the hope the albion will win, I reckon we have potentially a great manager and back room staff(most of them), and i believe we have a chairman who loves this club but will not allow it to slip back to the bad old days.
There now rightly or wrongly i've said my piece, please be gentle with me
