Instead of all the repetitive threads being started about every player being released by their respective clubs but us not being able to afford the wages, why don't we put them all in here. We could just list them all in this thread as they get released.

I think this thread could do a job

What if a player could do a job and we CAN afford his wages? Will you create another thread for these ones?

The stupid thing about this is that we don't have to pay a given player at the rates their existing club paid them.

The existing club won't pay them (contract run out) so we can make an offer to the player and they can take it or leave it. If we are a more attractive proposition than other clubs (not just due to wages) then he'll sign, even if we're offering a lot less than what he was paid before. We're under no obligation to pay a player at rates they are used to, we put our offer on the table and they decide whether or not to take it.

Lots of clubs are in a financial pickle so those that can offer large wages are dwindling so there will be a lot of players taking a reality check of not being paid what they used to be in the past.

For example, Player X may have been on £50k a week last season but if he only has 2 offers on the table, say of £20k and £25k, he needs to choose between them, there is NO £50k option to him, it's £20k, £25k or nothing.
