far too long, it seems to be starting off about money awash and uncontrolled in the sport. is it actual corruption or just things are done differently?

Good read, basically a Portuguese chap hacked loads of football teams and agents email servers to get details of dodgy contracts and shell companies etc. All sorts of claims in there. Now the hacker is facing prison time for it.

Yeah articles of that length aren’t for everybody. I found it very interesting on my train journey home :)

Inevitable it's going to happen with all the money sloshing about. It's like doping in football. There is too much money involved for their not to be a motivation to cheat to gain the competitive edge, especially with teams increasingly pressing.

Meopham, Kent.
Sadly it's inevitable with the riches and greed that exists in the game. The authorities haven't wanted to deal with it because ....

a) once you scratch beneath the surface, you will find worse and worse goings on.
b) they don't want to expose the game as being corrupt and immoral.
c) they may well have their hands in the till as well.

Match fixing is probably the least of the problems in the game when it comes to financial irregularities, but with so many loan deals going on, where a few clubs have players in games all round the Leagues, it's not hard to see how an outcome can be influenced.
