A report in the Plymouth Herald states that a spate of cats in the Southway area of Plymouth have been poisoned by giving them anti freeze to drink. An e petition has been set up to counteract this by asking anti freeze manufactures to use a bittering agent, so that cats wiil not touch it.

That's utterly cruel. Cats are much loved family pets that bring great joy to their owners. Not a one of them deserves a painful death nor their owners the loss of their pet.

Hmmm, that would be a shame for the pest controlling community although I understand brake fluid is just as effective.

Is this not a urban myth, much like the one about people in Worthing leaving meat, frozen in anti-freeze lying around ? Or has there actually been cases

Cornish Seagull has had a "Road to Damascus" experience and can now be contacted at http://www.Cornwallcatprotectionleague.co.uk. Of interest he has also joined the "Get Song Thrushes out of Cornwall" group!

I can only post what was reported in my local paper, in light of the recent murder of a thrush in cornwall and subsequent binfest by cat lovers/haters.
I can also comment that Southway does have problems.

Personally I thought that cats were fussy creatures, but they must quite like the taste of anti freeze to get near it in the first place. Maybe that is how they manage to stay out all night in the coldest weather. But on this occasion too much of a good thing is obviously a bad thing hence the multiple feline deaths in Southway.

If you get the balance of anti freeze and cat biscuits formula right, the little bastards can stay out all night in the coldest of temps! in Lab and working on it!We could make millions Mr Raleigh Chopper!
