I thought the article was pretty good and made me not hateCoppell as much as I did. I believe him when he says he retains a lot of affection for the club and in time I think I might forgive him completely. I wonder what Reading fans must think when they read in that article the bit where he says that he watched the Plymouth game and "watched HIS team" and how even if it would improve the Reading team he wouldnt poach Brighton players. I cant imagine they'd be too impressed.

Adams left us to be Number 2 at a team who were certainties for relegation as Bassett had been appointed manager. But I´m fine with that because he changed the Albion inside out.

Taylor took us from a team 3rd in Div 2 and looking like a playoff team to Div 2 champs by 6 points. And he left with 3 months to get a new job

Coppell was a wanker, who DIDN´T keep us up and left before taking us back up. Coppells record is getting us relegated. He can f*** off

I agree with Stumpy, coppell's record for the Albion will read, 1 season - team relegated.

He jumped ship at the first possible opportunity for a half decent offer, kept Dick Knight waiting for 6 weeks in the summer before he decided to sign and then 3 months down the line walks for dubious reasons. He knew the score full well when he joined about the stadium so to give that as the main reason is pure crap.

He also pissed about for 2 weeks deciding whether to join Reading.

He tore the heart and soul out of the side and we have spent 5 months trying to put the wheels back on.

Now he puts out his article. I am sure the Reading people can't be too happy either.

The bloke is becoming a joke and we have NOTHING to thank him for.

Bugger off.

I've got no beef with Coppell or Taylor. They both did a good job for us while they were here and got the most out of a side that hasn't had any investment since Adams took over. I think all three of them (4 if you include Horton) will look back in the future and wish they could still be here when we have Falmer.

I think that people are being harsh onPeter Taylor and not giving him the credit that he deserves. You can't blame him for leaving, you have to admire his honesty, he did not think that he was up for the job with the limited budget that DK offered. He didn't piss about, he just said what he felt and left. It was the best solution that he could offer to the Albion other than stay as our manager. It gave us time to find another manager.

This is in stark contrast to Steve Coppell, who pissed about for months discussing whether or not he would signa new contract in the summer (in reality he was probably waiting for other job offers), and then broke it and left midway through the season. The club were up shit creek.

Taylor also compares positively to Mark McGhee, he took over and improved Micky Adams' team, while we haven't made any progress under McGhee who has inherited Coppell's (and Adams') team.

Adams and Taylor are both good characters in my book.

Coppell is the fool who screwed us over.

I doubt very much that Micky is happy at Leicester. :(

Taylor is worried - Doncaster have run away and the others are closing

Adams- unlikely that he's happy but he does love a challenge sounds dour even when he's happy so you never know?

Coppell - stiill thinks of the Albion as HIS team so he can't be that happy:p

Good point.
I meant in the management/football side of things, not in the players behaviour side of things...

Even that side of it, Ali. He as good as said, that if he had known the financial difficulties that Leicester had, he wouldn't have gone.

The whole administration/bankruptcy/new administration thing was a travesty of justice and on the playing side he's fighting relelgation which is where Leicester were 27 months ago.

Just what I was thinking. Donny should sew up the title, with Hull one of FIVE teams who could take the last two automatic places. It's far from certain they'll go up.

I can't work Adams out. Call me cynical but there was NO WAY he was going to walk out on Leicester!

As for Coppell, I'm not happy about what he did and he's let us down, but in fairness he's doing his bit when trying to sort our stadium, so he's not completely burnt his bridges. And unlike Hoddle and most Southampton fans, I have to say I wouldn't mind if we took him back one day to be honest.

Worthing
Both Adams and Coppell moved on to bigger and better things.(there opinion not mine)Taylor on the other hand was honest enough to tall D.K. that he did not think he could keep the Albion up on the available budget.I think he was honest and for that I have the utmost respect for him.I did not or would not want Knight to go down on his bended knees to beg any of them to have stayed for as far as I`m concerned if you do not have your heart in it then you are better off away from this club.Taylor took Adams team and inproved it (mainly tactically)and that puts him right up there in my opinion.Mullery did a similar thing in the seventies after another certain Mr Taylor left but he had money to spend but that has been missing of late. All in all I think Peter Taylor can hold his head up high and be rated up there with the very best we have had.

Many people did not give Taylor the credit he deserved for taking us up, saying it was Mickey's team and anyone could have done it. Well this season puts those comments into perspective.

Personally, I still think Horton is the biggest twat for leaving. Even without a stadium it was inevitable would catch them, then overtake them.
