Lets face it he woalked out on us before so what would of stopped him from doing it again. Now that Curbs has settled with West Ham he could be the man for us

I'm always an advocate of " Never Go Back " Coppell has probably noted the second time around failures of Mullery and Adams and decided not to risk it. Every manager who has EVER gone back to a club he has managed before has nearly always blown it second time around.

As for Gregory, he has not worked since the dispute he had with Derby County. I believe he had a major conflict of interest in that he was getting players to sign up to the same agent who represented him.... Thus mr Gregory " Could " theoreticaly put one of his players on the transfer list which would earn cash for his agent.. dodgy or what ?:shootself

We had a perfectly good manager who was given insufficient time to turn things round and now we appear not to be the attractive proposition everyone seems to think we are.

We are near the foot of league one and playing in front of small crowds If you had premiership or championship experience would you be interested? I also thought Wise was a multi-millionaire and I can't see himself lowering his sights to come to us. I hope not anyway.

I would rather try someone up and coming such as Gary Stevens with an experienced number 2.

It's a good shout. He did a decent job at potless Halifax and is making Oxford fulfill their potential. I can't help thinking that he would want to hang around Oxford for a little while longer as he is onto a good thing there.

Trouble is half the muppets that support the Albion would not want him, even though he is an up and coming manager, they want a name and instant success opposed to somebody looking to build the team and their reputation.

Gutted Coppell has turned us down! Can understand him wanting a better job ,he is of the right calibre.Could have been a good England manager.
What does worry me though is the fact the first time round he accepted the job , but now he knows more about us he has rejected.Perhaps the Withdean Whingers are giving the job a bad reputation!

Very true.

We do need to be patient. I don't buy this timetable business. I.e. We need to be midtable or playoffs this season. Then gain promotion next season. It doesn't work that way.

I would be quite happy with Wilder. He has cut his teeth at levels that are not particularly easy. Sadly, I think we would be coming in too early for him as he will want to get Oxford promoted.

But does it? The vast majority of managers are not a success first time round, so there is zero evidence that they will be any better or worse second time. Your argument holds no water.

But then Clough did leave Burton at a similar time last season.
