Control

Basil Fawlty

Don't Mention The War
I watched a film called Control last night about Ian Curtis. Quite a sad biopic about the Frontman of Joy Division. Found it very moving, espically with him battling Eplispy and depression. Anyone else seen the film or seen them live?

I saw them at The Electric Ballroom in Londern around 1980.
They were brilliant, 4 bands on, inc. Certain Ratio, DAF and Monochrome Set (I think it was, there were some great multiple band gigs there and a I saw a couple). Curtis had the 'dead fly' dance going on, and that supposed epileptic fit at a timely moment, at the end of their set. He had to be 'helped' back to the mic for the encore, a-la James Brown 'n all.

Also went to The Buzzcocks at The Suite, where Warsaw were the backing band apparently. If I saw them, I forgot about it - and I heard they were very forgettable so it's likely. Bloody riot at the end when Buzzcocks wouldn't do an encore!

My sister has it on DVD and I wasn't sure whether to give it a watch.

I'll give it a watch and see what I think...
