IMO the best chance of getting Wickham was when we sold Bridcutt. A swap deal might have been possible.
Wickham's form at the end of last season will most likely have increased his market value beyond our budget.
If he goes it will almost certainly be to a PL club.

After his end to season form I'd expect he want to remain in Pl now and there would be PL teams interested. Would be immense signing but can't see it I'm afraid.

He's reportedly on 25k a week at the moment and given his end of season form, you would expect him to want an increase on top of that.

Might be the type of player need, but will be a very long time before the club will compete financially for such players.
