Was with a Liverpool-supporting mate at Anfield last week and was very impressed by Brighton. Thought you played very good football and were very unlucky not to be further ahead, Even when Liverpool scored twice, heads didn't drop and they were relieved at the end.
Pleased that you got rewards yesterday and wish you all the best for the season. Will follow results with interest.
As a Sunderland supporter, it gives me hope that things can be built over time with good recruitment and a solid plan.

The Burnley’s, Southamptons and Luton’s all mention Brighton when promoted. They forget we had three seasons of back to the wall stuff before we were able to invest more into the squad.
Potter possibly tried to change it to quickly in season one and without Covid we could have paid the price we simply didn’t have the players to play that way.
I think this is the lesson promoted teams need to learn before trying to play total football.
Good luck for the season.

Exactly this, we are where we are because of slow, sustained growth.

Lots of teams our size have had an outstanding season. It takes long term and sensible investment to sustain it.

I've just come back from a trip abroad, where I stayed with an old friend who's a Sunderland supporter. He tells me that the club is employing The Brighton Model these days, with solid planning, targeting of youth prospects and giving them a pathway to playing time. Sounds like better times are hopefully around the corner for you. I know you couldn't hang on for the win yesterday but I've started listening out for the commentary of your matches following my trip, and I've been struck by the fact you've apparently bagged a few "worldies" in recent weeks.

My friend was worried we might plunder your squad for our next youth prospects.

AC looked to be carrying some 'excess baggage' yesterday. Hope he gets his career back on track with you guys.

Thanks for those words, fella. Had a boss who was a Mackem and currently work with one. Both good people with sensible, humble views on all things football.

I’d love to see you back in the Prem (although suspect Steeley would get dog’s abuse when we play you!).

How good is Chris Rigg? Seems a helluva prospect. I have read that the Nigels are meant to be in for him in January. I very much hope not for his sake…

That's been the way for years. Worzel Gummidge's Blackpool had lots of plaudits as they took the game to teams like Man U, causing lots of problems, but like many others, they got relegated trying to play attacking football after promotion. It's a big step up.
