Haven't seen any other threads on it so apologies if there's another out there but AITC's very own Spencer has won this award.

Brighton and Hove Albion | Community | News | News | Seagulls Spencer Wins UK Player Award

Lifted from the Seagulls site:

Albion in the Community member, Spencer Radley-Martin has been named the Football League Trust Player of the Year, for the Make Every Player Count initiative. Spencer was presented with the award, watched by his family and friends, by 1966 World Cup heroes Gordon Banks and Roger Hunt in a ceremony at the Football League Annual Conference.

After collecting his award, an emotional Spencer told seagulls.co.uk, "I was so shocked to win because there were so many other people worthy of winning the award. Then to be presented it by Banks and Hunt is a moment I will never forget - I couldn't stop my hand shaking. "It's been a really difficult year for me, but this award has made it all worth it, and to collect it in front of my family was an amazing feeling. "I thank Albion in the Community because I have loved my time here, even just helping out. I have met so many great people, and we all get on well so I can't help but smile."

The 17-year-old was selected as a finalist by winning the London and South-East region, but collected the national award on Thursday, after the panel were impressed by his commitment, dedication, and achievements within the award-winning Disability Football department of Albion's community initiative. Eleven years ago Spencer joined the Seagulls-Specials team - set up to provide a sporting opportunity for disabled children - but this season alone his attitude has been exemplary in the face of adversity, even after being omitted to intensive care for several weeks when a virus caused an extreme reaction to his diabetes.
Being the strong young man he is, Spencer recovered and gradually built up his attendance to once again play a full and active role in training and matches. He also represents the club in local, regional, national and international events, and his work has now been acknowledged with this honourable award. AITC Disability Football Development Manager, Teresa Sanders said, "We're delighted Spencer has won this accolade. He has worked extremely hard in everything he has done all year, and is such an important part of the Seagulls-Specials team.

"The other regional finalists are all worthy winners, so for Spencer to be chosen from such an inspiring group of people is a credit to himself and his family." Spencer's award is the second to be achieved by the AITC Disability department this year after the Make a Difference project won, Best Community Project at the 2010 Football League Awards.

What a top bloke and by the sounds of it, richly deserved.

...and when we move to Falmer surely AITC id going to go from strength to strength.
