...and you're no happier than Tip Top (oh, how ironically named).

At least you're consistent in your terminal pessimism - a bit like your snotty nailbrush-alike namesake.

So am I being pessimistic or a realist then TLO?

You're very good at evading the question!

Have we got a contingency plan in place should it happen?

Do you know?

Ahh The Large One strikes again.

If he doesnt agree with you he just reverts to a bit of childish name calling! (remember the 'chin dribble' one?).

Childish name-calling? From NSC's most irrelevant poster? Someone who has NEVER, despite repeated requests ad nauseum, posted anything intelligent, constructive, witty or pertinent. You have been asked time and time again from a whole range of people for constructive criticism of various posts, but you are, it would appear, intellectually and physically incapable. You only ever post on here to criticise (no, not even criticise - that would imply intelligence and forethought - probably 'sneer at in a cowardly manner' is closer to the mark) either myself or Yorkie. Apart from that, you're strangely silent - weird that wouldn't you say? Actually, don't bother answering - I don't really care for you.

'Chin dribble' - yes, I remember it. Quite mild for what I really think of your nonsensical posts. 'Inconsequential twat' is far more appropriate for you, I think, and even that's still quite mild.

I only save the name-calling for you. For instance, see my post in reply to Tip Top below.

Pessimist.

Who in their right mind draws up a business plan working on the assumption that money which has not been sourced, nor promised, will suddenly appear and therefore placed into the equation?

At no point has Dick Knight nor Martin Perry ever said 'some of our financing for Falmer will come from new investment which we, um, haven't sourced yet?' The banks and public financing bodies would piss themselves silly if that was the case. We wouldn't have got any money from SEEDA if a workable business plan wasn't in place.

That was not my concern.

What I was asking was if we were in the conference by 10/11 would the investment STILL be forthcoming

No need to get on your high horse or be insulting with it!!

OK, I see you point. I'm sorry if you feel insulted, but where was the insult? What name did I call you, apart from pessimist?

All I'm saying is that I am curious as to why are you wondering whether we'll be in the Conference in three years' time. Do you honestly see us as the worst team in the league - one which will soon disappear down the league's trapdoor? Where is this concern coming from? You mentioned an inconsistent team - one which at present is holding its own two divisions and 37 places above the Conference.

For me, we are going to have to try a lot harder at being useless and shit to go down twice in three years.

I wouldn't know what the 'contingency plan' would be because we are so far away from that scenario. Really we are.

Ok, hand on heart I don't see us being in that situation but what does worry me is that the investment (wherever that is coming from?) won't be there IF we seriously struggle.

My concerns are also from a member of the backroom staff that trains/looks after the players.

He has real concerns about the state of the squad and their lack of 'desire'

Jake, Dean, Adam they are so unsettled
it's frightening

Really? That is news.

They always seem as happy as Larry and raring to go. The vibe when I've seen the players together has always been good and positive. I've spoken to Coxy on a few occasions, and he seems genuinely proud and pleased to be playing for Brighton - indeed he has been an ever-present this season, has he not?

I'm not doubting your source, but might it be that they are unhappy with themselves (and the fact they HATE losing), rather than 'unsettled', possibly?

Could it be that this is a make or break season for Jake if he doesnt do the biz this season he probably never will.

Adam is possibly concernbed about his injuries because according to another thread he is under the Dr again witha knee injury.

Dean, Hammond I assume, is havinga nightmare season so is probably concerned about his form. So overall it is probaly concern rather than being unsettled.

I think that Jake is unhappy. Who wouldn't be when playing in a winning team, gets dropped and then is publically criticised for not getting crosses in, when in fact he won quite a few corners.

Way out west
The standard of the Conference National (BSP) isn't that bad, there are plenty of players plying their trade there who have played at league level but for one reason or another (not always that they aren't up to it) they find themselves there. I don't for a minute think that the Albion will start off at Falmer in the BSP, at the moment we aren't far short of being a team capable of challenging for promotion to the Championship, a drop in the other direction simply won't happen with our current set up.
