Computer speakers

[Walkers Cajun Squirrel]

Well I am 18 today (ye just wanted to get that in) and my computer speakers have blown, only cheap things they were. But I got a fair shout of money so am looking at some new ones. Not sure what to get but want good quality that can sustain a decent volume with out blowing. Upper budget is £150, but dont really want to spend that unless they are top quality.

No need to spend £150 on speakers.You can get a good pair for half that price easily.

Already got a hi fi system that uses them red and black bits to connect could I get a pair with that or would they ahve to be the same make or a certain volage or something?

Not overly technical as you can see.

If you want to connect your PC to your Hi-Fi, simply buy a 3.5mm Jack to Phono lead and hook it up. You can get them in places from Poundland and up... There is no point in spending more than say £15 for one unless you want to burn money - as most of the music you'll be playing is in MP3 format (I guess) you won't get much more out of a very expensive interconnect.

If your amp has a digital input (coax or digitial) you can get those leads from again, Poundland upwards. There is no point in spending loads on an optical lead, because it's just a shard of plastic or glass, nothing more. I'm surprised when people are sold gold plated optical leads in places like Comet - what's the point?
