Computer help needed

you can write my computer expertise on a postage stamp ..so i need some assistence please

on switching computer on it loads to a page with 4 users icons....me wife & two daughters..these load individual desktops etc

this main screen shows number of unread emails by the user name ...somehow my daughter has linked to a friends email account (hotmail) so the counter also shows an unread email number for that account as well as her own ....how do I "unlink" it so that it only shows hers?

All help appreciated ....switching off & on doesnt work !!.....

remove the friends account from messenger or outlook express.

I think that has been done ( deleted from contacts anyway)...without success unfortunately..will look at that again when I get home... thanks
