Anyone else tuning in for the Opening Ceremony?

I always like the Commonwealths, feels a bit like a giant sports day, and I love seeing people from some tiny Pacific island that might score well on Pointless turning up to play bowls or something.

Doing it in college and being a lover of the sport in general, I will deffo tune into the shot put and discus. Probably some of the boxing also.

Heading up to some of it - should be good. Brum is a great city but admittedly has a bad press it seems, I hope some of that negative perception can be changed over the next couple of weeks.

Will definitely make a point of watching the heats and finals of the track events, particularly the middle distance events. The rest of the sports I'm not so bothered about tbh, but I find myself getting drawn in once they are on tv. I remember watching the Olympics from Tokyo last summer and it suddenly seeming really important that I stayed up until 2:40am to watch something I normally have zero interest in, like the final of the men's shot put or the women's freestyle skateboarding, ffs. So I'll probably end up watching all most of it.
