YES, YES and YES!

You're a web developer....you must use Twitter then, NO I CAN'T STAND IT

Or "hey how do you install windows7, what about this, what about this, what about this, what about this, what about this"

I do not want to spend my saturday evenings in making sure you do not rape your computer please.

Developers have a real problem with that don't they ?

I'll sympathise when they stop calling themselves "architects" and "engineers"....

Officially I'm a "developer", but I'd call myself an old-fashioned "computer programmer". Well, just "old-fashioned", really. To me, "architects" and "engineers" design and build solid things like hotels and railways. Sympathy now?

i've only just realized clapham_gull is on about people in computing going on about being architechts and engineers. I was trying to link those jobs to java and javascript and failing. Jesus christ what pretentious stuff. Although an egineer working with processors at a low level might earn that title. Not some one developing a site for a small organic peanut firm based in kemp town or withdean.

Following on from this, when they find out I have worked as a translator and have studied linguistics etc. some people assume that I understand every language in the whole f***ing world.

That there is such a thing as the "premiership," which even Barclays Premier League players and managers still can't their heads round. It hasn't been called that for several seasons now.

I generally go back with the same sort of questions about International football. "So, who do you support apart from England?"

"Well, no-one. I'm from England innit."

"EXACTLY!"

At that point, I often get a blank look, and a change of subject.

Whhhhooooooosssshhhhhh!!!

You could ask: "But which half-way competent international team do you support?"

People that think Java is the same as JavaScript. :wrong:

I am one of these people and all of a sudden I feel a pang of guilt!

What is the difference?
