Steve. Fantastic stuff. If it's anything like other things I have seen with you involved I can't wait.
Just a thought, could "Brighton 'Till I Die" be overhauled for one night as a money spinner. Also apart from the Komedia, although a terrific comedy veneue, what is the The Nightingale like, and is it suitable for anything.

Stand Up for the Albion - me like
Seeing as the money is going to the albion, surely the best price is the highest price people are willing to pay, that will still ensure that the night still sells out?
What do the adults think?

£9 is FAR to cheap! Myself and Mrs Brovian (occasionally) go to the 'Beck's Krater Komedy Klub' (sic) on Friday nights and it's a tenner then.
It is after all a charity event (never mind the rights and wrongs of the Appeal - that's effectively what it is) people who go know they are contributing to a Cause and aren't just lining some promoter's pocket (*ahem*). If it's only 250 capacity the admission needs to be something like £15-20. Sorry schoolkids, we'll try and organise something else for you.

However I agree - we HAVE to think of the cash first and foremost at this time, even this has a ring of "football comedy for yuppies" to it. This is a fundraiser not a community event, just like Fundraising Black Tie Dinners for wealthy businessmen are out of most people's league.
Sounds like the comedy night will be more entertaining that a night at Withdean - with the added bonus of being able to drink in view of the "pitch". So why not charge Withdean prices?

On a side note...I would pay a lot more than £25 if I could get another chance to see Brighton Til I Die. That was a FANTASTIC show. Ditto "Blue and White Christmas" pantomime.

Spot on Lush. After the game I can (if it's in my pocket) get through 30/40 quid, with beer etc. Maybe start at £9 and pass a bucket round for donations.
Just re-reading my post I realise it's a tad patronising to the youngsters. Sorry biscuit, didn't mean to come over quite so smugly.
But perhaps there could be two events? As Lush said if this has to 'Stand-up for Yuppies' then so be it - the idea is to maximise the income. So what about biscuit you organsising another night with your mate? It doesn't have to be at the Komedia, local hall will do, you can charge 50p and a Kit-Kat (sorry, being patronising again).

I see no problem with charging £12 for NSC member. £15 for everyone else.

Sounds good but the irony is that NSC members are those people more likely to shell out that extra amount.
I prefer the idea of the ticket price being £10 and doing fundraising stuff on the night. That way, people can contribute at a level they are comfortable with.
I've also promised those acts who are coming that it will be a full and friendly audience (most have been worried that it would be an 'agressive football fan audience' - their words, not mine - let's not enforce any outmoded stereotype) and ticket price is instrumental to the attitude of the crowd, even when the evening is a fundraiser.
Again, open to comment.
