West Ham defender Sebastien Schemmel was dragged out of Upton Park by
security staff after an argument with Glenn Roeder, it has been reported.
A club source claimed: "When Schemmel went into the dressing room, Roeder
told him to get out. Roeder said 'no-one wants you here, get out'. Schemmel
told him 'no', so Roeder said again 'get out, you're not welcome'.
"But he sat down and started to change, so Roeder hit the roof and called
security. Schemmel was dragged out and away from the ground. The players
were shocked it went that far."
Schemmel's decision to turn down a £1million move to Rangers last week is
believed to be one of the reasons behind the bust-up with manager Roeder.
The Frenchman, who is among West Ham's highest earners, was yesterday fined
two weeks' wages for his recent comments about Roeder and was forced to run
circuits on his own at the club's Under-17 Little Heath training ground.
The source added: "They're trying to force Schemmel out - he wasn't taken on
the pre-season tour. Appearance money has been stopped and Schemmel's wages
are probably matched by his bonuses for appearances.
"He's well liked in the dressing room, but he can't stay now - it's either
him or Glenn Roeder, and Roeder won't go."
