West Ham defender Sebastien Schemmel was dragged out of Upton Park by
security staff after an argument with Glenn Roeder, it has been reported.

A club source claimed: "When Schemmel went into the dressing room, Roeder
told him to get out. Roeder said 'no-one wants you here, get out'. Schemmel
told him 'no', so Roeder said again 'get out, you're not welcome'.

"But he sat down and started to change, so Roeder hit the roof and called
security. Schemmel was dragged out and away from the ground. The players
were shocked it went that far."

Schemmel's decision to turn down a £1million move to Rangers last week is
believed to be one of the reasons behind the bust-up with manager Roeder.

The Frenchman, who is among West Ham's highest earners, was yesterday fined
two weeks' wages for his recent comments about Roeder and was forced to run
circuits on his own at the club's Under-17 Little Heath training ground.

The source added: "They're trying to force Schemmel out - he wasn't taken on
the pre-season tour. Appearance money has been stopped and Schemmel's wages
are probably matched by his bonuses for appearances.

"He's well liked in the dressing room, but he can't stay now - it's either
him or Glenn Roeder, and Roeder won't go."

You've got to feel sorry for Schemmel. He genuinly likes playing for West Ham & is popular among the supporters. :nono:

I can honestly see West Ham doing a Sheffield Wednesday over the next few seasons. Would love to have another away day at Upton Park!!!

Glenn Roeder is truly an awful manager. Crap at watford & now taken the Hammers down with some of the best young players around. Even Trevor "never managed a club before" Brooking managed to win 2 out of 3

Looked a really good player when he first signed for them, and the fans have always liked him. Now they've sold Johnson to Chelski he would surely have been back in the team.
Sounds like its got to an extreme point when Roeder throws him out though.

Ostracising him for NOT wanting to leave?? What's that all about? How bad are their finances if he's so desperate for big earners to leave he'll literally throw them out?

Surely it's better to have players in the side who want to play for the team? They've lost enough players as it is - I wish Roeder well personally, after what he went through, but the portents don't look good for West Ham with him in charge this season. I can't understand why they're among the favourites for the title. I'm with Dan on this one - I can see them plummeting if they don't sort themselves out straight away.
