I remember when advent calendars didn't have chocolate in, and the excitement was purely in seeing what picture was behind the door.

Would it be a donkey? A shepherd's crook? A Jesus? One of those German sweet things that looks like a curly turd?

Nowadays, I don't even look at the pictures :sigh:, it's all about the chocolate. Commercialism, it's ruined the magic of Christmas
