How did that unambitious crock of shit win the award. It was a small and dreary little ground in the middle of nowhere with a shocking car park, utter gash. It says a lot for what Colchester United aspire to achieve.

It was an Institute of Chartered Surveyors award, which is just about right for the crock of shite that it is. The award probably recognises the fact that it was well measured, cheap and delivered on budget rather than recognising it as a beacon of good design. It's the RIBA/CABE awards that recognise quality designs as will be the case for the Albion's new stadium for sure.

That's what I assumed as well. Doesn't look that bad for £14 million to be honest.
