coincidence? when i read the thread earlier about viruses/worms i then had the problem with me laptop rebooting/rcp never had it until i clicked on the tread

My isp has it all over their home page
It is a massive problem and anyone with Windows XP, Me & 2000 needs to download a patch

ME? is that not a different system to 2000 and xp, the latter being NT based.

Yes. There were once 2 MS product lines.
Win 95 - 98 - ME for home users (Win 9x)
NT and 2000 for corporates.

2000 was originally sposed to be the one that brought everything together but typically, MS screwed that one up, so we had to wait for XP Home to finally kill off the Win 9x line. And good riddance as well.

XP is the best OS Microsoft have produced, but "best" is a relative term. Keep it patched and up to date, virus protected and firewalled and you'll be as well off as you can be...
