Desperately need to get hold of some 'creme de coconut' for a cocktail party on Friday but have been unable to find it in all the major supermarkets.

Anyone know of somewhere that would sell cocktail suitable coconut cream?

Please.

If coconut cream is the same as coconut milk they DO sell it Tesco..or buy some real coconuts and use the real thang.

Went to Tescos last night and they only had small sachets of coconut cream in the curry section. I believe there is a particular type you need to use for cocktails???

It is in the Ethnic food Isle, they do it in 1 and 2 ltr, think you may be looking in the wrong isle

Can't you just lob a bottle of Malibu in and be done with it?

Or some tropical scented sun cream, nobody will notice the difference.

I know you've already been to Tesco, but were you looking in the right place?

Whenever I've used the stuff (in tins) I've found it in the ethnic foods aisle with the Caribbean or Far Eastern foods, or sometimes in the baking ingredients bit. As well as in the curry section.

Or you could try your local corner shop/24 hour place. There's one round the corner from me and if I want bread, breakfast cereal, milk or whatever, it's horrendously overpriced and I try to avoid it. However, on the plus side, they have a huge range of specialist ingredients when it comes to Asian food. I spent ages trying to find a supermarket that stocked dried fenugreek leaves, or something like that. Corner shop, on the other hand: Bob's yer uncle.

Thanks very much, by the way, as I'm now going to go off to work shortly and spend the rest of the day wondering if you like pina coladas, and taking walks in the rain.
