Capital One Cup Semi finals begin in earnest tonight. No doubt gullible people will tell you Man Utd and Man City are shoe-ins for the dream all Manchester final but then both Villa and Chelsea were heavy favourites this time last year and look what happened to them.

Love the two legged format at this stage, twice the drama and raw emotion, should be four crackers.

Don't worry - Andy Carroll is back. Isn't that what Big Sam and the fans have been banging on about for ages? This could be the game that turns their season around. Alternatively it could be the night of Sam's sacking. If there are fringe/reserve team players in the City line-up they will be desperate to impress, and a defeat against what could effectively be a reserve team won't reflect well on the Hammers.
