Coaches to Home Games

Hi

Following on from the threads about coaches to away games, has anyone thought of running coaches from the North to selected home games? I live in Leeds, and would love to get to a few home games during the season, but the cost of a day trip ends up well over £100, and it's always a mad dash to get the last train back from London.

I'm sure it would work out quite economical if we can get enough people, especially if we had a couple of stops in Manchester, Leeds etc...

Cheers

Kev.

Leeds - but not the dirty bit
The key to getting to home games is all about advance planning. We can do the trip for approx £25 full adult return on the train and are back in Leeds by 9:30 - 10ish.
That is cheaper than any coach would be plus we have the advantage of a few beers en-route.
I already have my train tickets for games down south up to the end of October.

Great idea you just need someone to organise it, give it a go, nothing better than having a coach load of supporters going to the game together

Errrr yeah, but three things come to mind. How long would all this take by the time you have picked-up & dropped-off at various points around the north of England before hitting the motorway. Would there be enough interested parties to fill a coach, and if the answer is no, how much would it end up costing you per seat?

A good idea in principle but I dont think we have the numbers to support it. It may work for a club with thousands living away from their home city. I guess what you have to remember is that of the hundreds of Albion fans living up north, not all of them go to every home game (some dont go to any home games).

The key is indeed advance planning. Like the above poster I have booked up to the end of October from Manchester to Brighton. Just over £30 return (full adult fare) 3 hours, 40 minutes.

i posted the same question a while ago but from northamptonshire/ milton keynes.
if you could arrange a pick up on the way from newport pagnell services i'm sure you'll have half a coach load.

It would really need to pick ups at various points along the M1, but the service stations are very anti people leaving cars all afternoon.

Me me me :bhasign:

Also because of the many useless north western teams in the football league some of us don't go to many away games either......

I often travel to home games from the North Wales coast with an empty car so if anyone would like to join me and help share the cost of fuel let me know. Currently in a cheap hotel in Crawley having made the trip on a Friday night for a change.
