If we broke even on him I'd rather give him a bit longer and see, but make a half decent profit and I'd drive him there tbh

Am a fan of his and think he's a good player but we could use the money better if it's good money

A good honest pro sad to see him leave if he does but not surprised, feel the two options are not enough maybe if it suits the club and Macca himself go with blessing but only if it suits all parties.

CMS is not getting the delivery to be a 20+ a season striker, but is work ethic is unbelievable, if every player had his desire and commitment, matched with their respective talent then we would be higher up the table,

This. I actually was saying i think our pitch is too big to my mate at the last game. Mainly because our midfield are too slow and never support the attacks. When watford attacked their CM's busted a serious gut to get forward time after time! Bennett use to do this for us in league 1 and our pitch was a lot smaller. The big pitch gives us space but we dont use it going forward... we just use it at the back to keep the ball even when we're losing!

Is this not because our Centre Backs are too slow and therefore defend too deeply? The bigger pitch would exaggerate this.

I am with others on this - if CMS is good enough for Norwich he should be good enough for us. He should stay.

We just dont get the ball forward quick enough, he is always trying to go past defenders which he carnt do instead of running onto through balls. He has been guilty of some glaring misses this season along with the whole team

I wonder how people would feel if cms went to Norwich and started banging in the goals if that were to happen and we kept on the same form as we are now it could be poyets downfall

People saying he doesnt suit our system are deluded. We play him upfront on his own, countless times with 20/30 yards between him and other players and expect him to hold the ball, turn, run shoot score... If he doesnt fit the system then there are not many players who can. The bloke has scored 9 goals this season in the most anti-attack team I have ever seen. The problem is Gus persisiting with this lacklustre game plan. My issue at the moment is not with CMS, Gus or any INDIVIDUAL. The WHOLE team needs to take a look at themselves as time after time we put in gutless performances, perfectly personified by our inability to come back from behind in about 60 odd games.

We play on the biggest pitch in the UNIVERSE and deploy 3 central midfielders at home. No striker would be able to feed off that croq of shit. Take Murray at Palace. I dotn think hed score that many goals in this side. Why? Because Palace play good, direct attacking football involving 2 wingers scaring the shit out of teams and putting them on a plate for Murray. Do we pose even half the attacking threat? No, we have wingers with pace who cant cross or who are drilled into "DEFEND" and Ashley Fritzl dozzing about on the other side. We just are not a good attacking side.

I agree totally with this post. We are too quick to blame one player when the team are at fault. The team didnt look like they'd had 11 days off over Christmas but most of them looked like they hadnt slept for a week. We need to make some changes and quickly if we arent going to slide down the table as we did last year. I start every season with hope, and I am not someone who slates the team when we lose one or two games, but even I feel low after the performance against Watford.

Yeah, there's no way selling our only goalscorer isn't a stupid idea

why doesn't some statto on here give us some real facts. What is his conversion rate on chances? This season I've seen him single handedly beat Burnley with a world class over head kick and I've also seen him miss from inside the 6 yard box on numerous occasions. He has the worst first touch of any of our strikers but I've seen him dribble past three players at a time.
The question for me is do we want a striker who always gives 100%, chases lost causes and scores 1 in 5 chances. If the answer is yes then we've already got him and can look forward to another season of frustration in the Championship.
let's dispel the myth that we don't create enough chances. Including Watford, we have created against every team at home this season. We are badly missing quality in the box so let's hope January brings us some renewed hope!

The New Manager Bus
With Gus in charge, it would be better for CMS and, I think, for the team if he were to go to a different club. Gus won't change the way he sets the team out to play and this obviously doesn't suit CMS...even after 3/2 years.

I really like Gus as a manager, and I believe it more important for the club to be stable with the same manager in place for years, unless we go severely off the boil obviously. We are not far off the play-offs.

For £5 million...it's a no-brainer in my opinion.

Here's an idea. Supported and spotted by my other half and younger brother who both came to the Amex
for the first time last Saturday and who know football a bit.

Get someone new and relatively tall in up front with a ******** presence and Macca might start showing the form that Murray
shows at Palace. At the moment, Macca and Kaz are being asked to run from too deep to score or from
balls hoofed over the top. This will never work. You might also notice we never score from corners or headers.

Sums up how I feel about the situation.

Need a target man to help CMS and a system of play that suits his style. Gus promised to build the team around him when he signed and did the opposite.

I hope he stays and we can get the best out of him.
