Potter is getting a-lot of blame and admittedly he's making some very poor decisions but the clubs recruitment has to take more of the responsibility surely? As pointed out in the match thread we've lost real leaders from the starting 11 in Murray, Bruno, and AK and the replacements have failed to bring in leadership or any aggression.

In addition the ongoing failure to bring a striker in was a ridiculously high risk strategy and has totally blown up in our face. I'm astounded we have still not got anyone in with just over a week of the window left. Add to that we are woefully short of quality full backs, wide players, and an aggressive midfielder. What a mess.

Agree completely.

We have a specialist state of the art recruitment team and we’re left with 36 year old Murray backing up a Championship striker.

Now I like Maupay, a lot. But this is real talk. We cannot score. It is crazy how complacent we are in the transfer windows again. We haven’t learnt from last season.

If we don't spend some serious money on a midfield general and a strong CF we are going down. Pedestrian football, near and tidy passing it about but no one to break up the play and no killer instinct going forward

Agree with all of that 100% I'd genuinely love us to bring AK back, but he doesn't fit the clubs 'prefect' mantra.

Ashworth is the root of the problem for me, he's not a football man. Just a self serving consultant in the football business.

Having said that TB probably has a hedge bet or a trick up his sleeve.

I couldn't give an**** either way,Imjust want to see my chosen team play good football and win some games. Even once a month !
Would be Nice!

I agree fully. We have bought no players in our pl era who have been value for money. (Except maybe Pröpper, Gross and Bernardo). Squad needs a revamp

It's absolutely disgusting how we are relying on essentially one striker in the Premier League.

Recruitment team have failed diabolically with this, although there are still some days left to redeem themselves and bring someone in.

With the games we have left not sure it will make much difference

I seriously believe the club simply can’t afford to spend any more money but that will never be admitted ! Would rather they say that than listening to the crap party line that the manager is happy with his squad (same party line CH used last January !)

One striker with zero premier league experience before this season. Shocking. Heads should roll!

This I think is the most baffling thing. For all Andone and Locadia's faults (and there are many) they were options. Losing the 2 of them and replacing them with a youngster with essentially no first team experience is sheer madness. Why? What are we hoping to achieve? I like Potters style and the football he wants to play, but the tools just aren't there in the centre of the park, in wide areas and upfront

I don’t blame Potter at all for the mess we’re in now. He’s obviously made some mistakes as a new, young manager will but he’s been given the 2nd weakest squad in the division after Norwich to work with and expected to make sweeping changes to the way we play at the same time.

I think he’s done well with the distinctly average tools at his disposable, we have played some great football at times despite some poor results. He needs backing big time now - Bloom made a massive statement by giving him this new contract a few weeks ago and he really has to support his man now and in the summer with new recruits.

No doubt Dan Ashworth has some outstanding young England-qualified striker up his sleeve.

Meanwhile, week after week Potter says there is more to come from our existing squad. All I can add to that is that there had better be.

This. On the head, exactly.

And our recruitment team are seemingly relaxed about this. Utterly bizarre. And even if we stay up with this squad it’s still an extremely unbalanced risk considering the PL money at stake.
