Was watching the trailer in a media lesson today and it looked quite good.

Anyone got any opinions? reviews? ratings?

Might want to go see it.

one of my friends said it was the best film he had EVER seen

My friend (who has watched seemingly every film under the sun) said it was a waste of time. He said it wasn't shit, but just wasn't very good.

I enjoyed it, not a classic by any means but as a thily veiled analogy of 9/11 it works. Be prepared to guffaw at the "No way would anyone do what they are doing" moments though.

Mysterious powerful enemy, mindless violence, seemingly indestructible foe, many evil little offspring leaping out of the darkness, corn fed American lives pointlessly torn apart...for massive evil Monster see Islam.

Perfect justification for going to see it and making up your own mind!

Shame that isn't quite the same for Albion home games. People just assume it's shit and don't go :jester:

Doesnt really live up to the hype....a fair bit of suspense but doesnt really answer any questions.....v.short as well only 1hr 20mins.

I'd leave it until it comes out on DVD.

There's supposed to be a sequel lined up which is the same events but shot from another person's perspective...not a bad idea but needs to do more than the first one.

It'll be interesting to see the proposed sequel. The camerawork really did add atmosphere and the parasites were genuinely scary.

The camerawork was clever, but not for the hour and 20 minutes. It just made me feel sick after a while.

The parasites were not scary!!!! They were hilarious!

I loved it! Obviously it's not the most thought provoking plot of all time, in fact it's pretty stupid most of the time, but that's not the point. It's relentless action all the way through (save the necessary but boring opening 15 minutes for character ntroduction) and thoroughly enjoyable with it.

First half of the film was top notch, loved the camera work, loved the cut aways, thought they built the tension and terror up brilliantly culminating in the bridge scene. I loved the fact you only saw fleeting glimpses of the monster and didn't truly know what was going on.

After the subway tunnels it got a little predictable and became a typical Hollywood monster movie. I'm trying not to give too much away, but after this point you could guess most of the rest of the film. There were still a few good bits, but it was a shame it couldn't keep up the momentum of the first half.

Still worth seeing. Made me jump anyway.

Agree with all of that - and some nice eye candy too.

Well worth seeing, but don't expect a piece of cinematic genius.

Oh, and I think they blew up the building where I used to live; glad I moved really...

Needs a poll!

Its alright.

Not worth shelling out the £6.50 odd (or whatever it costs in a cinema nowadays) tho.

The cinema is getting too expensive. A Cineworld card for £10.99 a month for unlimited films is brilliant value. If you see two films a month you've paid for it. If you have a card and you don't like a film then you don't begrudge the money!

I don't know about anyone else but I've never walked out of a film in my life!

It's like leaving the football early; no-one on here ever does that.

Do they?
