Can't find any mention of this on NSC, but what's everyone's opinion of Billy Davies starting legal proceedings against Nigel Clough, for the alleged "knee in the back"? It was the customary heated end to the local derby, but I can't help thinking Davies is raising the stakes too high, and comes across as an arrogant prat. I've seen the footage several times on TV, but can't see the incident.

From the BBC - BBC Sport - Football - Nottingham Forest and Derby charged by FA over brawl

Earlier on Tuesday, Forest boss Billy Davies lodged a complaint with the FA and the League Managers Association against Derby counterpart Nigel Clough.

Davies says Clough kneed him in the back of the leg, but the Derby boss insisted: "It was purely accidental."

Both clubs have until 17 February to respond to the FA charges.

Players and coaching staff from both sides had scuffled after an initial clash between Jay McEveley of Derby and Forest's Chris Gunter while Davies refused to shake hands with Clough at full-time.

Clough plays down 'accidental' clash with Davies

"The matter is now in the hands of my lawyers, who are dealing with that," added Forest boss Davies.

I saw it on sky sports and you see Clough raise his foot/knee possibly making contact with Davies, but he's just over reacting probably because he lost.

Clough would knock him out, doubtless.

You don't mess with a Clough-lad.

Yeah, my money would be on Clough! Why should the lawyers get anything out of it? punish:

Where on earth does it say that he has issued legal proceedings? He referred the matter to the FA and to his union. Far from taking the matter to court!!!!!!

A great way to gain the respect of your players!-taking legal advice over a handbags
incident. I actually had respect for Davies before this.
