'We are by far the best team in the league', will now have to be proved against the 2 real pretenders to our crown Southampton/Huddersfield, games none of us want to lose especially at our unbeaten home, it keeps the pressure on the players and him as defeat will look rather like 'egg on the face', as 'Adkins' famous 'If they can keep up'. Two terrific battles to come I suspect.

My predicition is that one of these two teams is going to get an absolute pasting.

Southampton have a couple of players out, so I reckon it'll be them. We'll then see all their excuses come out, such as them being "injury ravaged", which is odd seeing as we had worse problems when we played them than they have now.

Lets hope they are going to be superb games. :) I sense Gus will not be taking his foot off the pedal. Winners always want to win, and Gus has got that winning mentality and the players are on the same wavelength. :)

Yup. Our confidence is absolutely SKY high, they will come at us and we will pick them off easily.

Gus doesn't have anything to prove this season, except maybe to himself - certainly not to anyone else.

'Pretenders' to our crown? Exeter in ninth are as close points-wise to Southampton and Huddersfield as we are.

If Southampton are after some sort of 'bragging rights' by beating the CHAMPIONS, that's their thing, but it is a shallow, meaningless thing to have. Being obsessed with us and what we do is irrelevant if they then go and do some dumb-arsed things like lose to Rochdale (twice). And Walsall. And Tranmere. And Brentford. And Carlisle. And Swindon. And Plymouth.

I can see a bench with Agdestein and Dunk sitting in to get experience of the atmosphere but no chance Gus will take any risks with the starting team

No-one, fans, players or management, wants to lose against SCC

No it won't

The league table is proof. The fact that we've won more games than anyone else. Lost fewer games than anyone else. Conceded fewer goals than anyone else.

We've already lost to Huddersfield this season: I doubt very much that will be much consolation to them if they miss out on promotion again. Liverpool have beaten Man United comfortably, but they're still going to finish the season with chuff all while United get the champagne out. Don't get me wrong: I want to win, and no doubt Adkins will do a Pardew if they beat us, and claim they are the best side in the league, but statistics will, as always, prove him wrong again.

Besides. Even a draw would have the Saints looking nervously over their shoulders, game in hand or not.

Yawn. Just bring on the trophy. And next season.

Oxo is out and it sounds like Barnard. If Lallana is out the yes a hiding is on, SCC are not that much of a force without him.
