The French Second Division side Clermont Foot (so-called to be distinguished from the town's rugby club) have announced their new manager is to be, for the first time in the top two divisions of the 'big five' leagues... a woman - Helena Costa.

She was previously manager of the Iran Women's Football team.

Good luck to her. I have no reason to hope she does anything other than well.

Great stuff - well done to her :clap2:

Is that definitely a woman? Looks like former Sunderland goalkeeper Lionel Perez to me

Funnily enough I was wondering to myself yesterday what happened to the woman commentator on Match of the Day? Now, she was bl00dy annoying, but seems strange that they binned her off seemingly.

Good that they can save money on the kit now. You know the washing and ironing of it.

But can she give a half-time team talk, make the tea and wash up all in just 15 minutes?

Jackie Oatley? She was just a crap commentator, nothing to do with the fact she was a woman.

Good luck to her, no reason for her not to do well.

Of course, the token 'hilarious' jokes will have to be endured first.
