Got away with what? Contrary to what you may have heard there were no characters called Roger the Cabin Boy (he was called Tom), Master Bates, (it was Master Mate) and Seaman Staines (there wasn't even a character called 'Seaman'). I think the bloke who created it has won libel damages in the past.

I remember when I was a little boy watching an afternoon cartoon called "Joe". It was about a little boy who's mum & dad ran a transport cafe and the adventures he had playing around the cafe and lorries etc. I think he used to have a pet cat as well. Sounds crap I know but it was my favourite when I used to watch it on the old black & white tv. I've never found anyone yet who remembers it and it would make my day if any of the older NSCs on here recall watching it as well.
As for the poll, of those mentioned Mr Benn was great.

Yep spot on. Multiple choice question on christmas day was "who wrote thunderbirds?" There were 4 possible answers all of them were "Andersons". One was the correct answer of "Gerry" as you have already stated, then there were 2 others that I vcant recall & then there was good old Clive. Which one did Moggy go for?? Yep, you guessed it. According to the book of Moggy Clive penned "Thunderbirds" during rehersals for "clive Anderson Talks Back"!!!!!!
