According to Claridge in the Sun this morning. Very odd little article.

He is critical of the way that the club said they couldn't afford to keep him, but then splashed out on McCammon.

The article implies we are paying Mr Gammon massive wages !!

I personally didn't think Claridge was that great to be honest.

Huffed and puffed but not much else.

I think The championship is too high a level for Claridge now but think he could do well for Brentford. Did he play at the weekend?

Yep and the Sun says he huffed and puffed and was upstaged by fellow oldie John Salako.

The problem was we couldn't afford them both, and a target man was always going to be the priority. He was ok, but little more.

Reeks of being Bitter to me, he hoped for a long contract to keep him going and playing at a decently high level for his age. But he gets turfed out and the toys are thrown......Shut Up Claridge you TART!

Claridge had a decent debut but did little else. It's good busines to get McCammon instead IMHO.

McCammon is a player with possible future prospects at the club beyond this season. Claridge was just an emergency measure until McGhee sorted something out. Me thinks Claridge is just a little bitter with being dumped for another player but thats life i'm afraid!

Claridge can hold the ball up but his lack of pace was evident especially at Millwall - you need pace in this league especially up front

At work - probably
I've always admired Claridge as a player - I even went to see Weymouth vs Barnet in a friendly a couple of years ago when I was staying with my In-Laws in Weymouth - just 'cos he might have played....BUT - I'd rather have McCammon, more pace, more of a threat in the air etc etc!!!!

I'd put our loan strikers of recent times in this order:

1. Benjamin
2. Iwelumo
3. Henderson
4. Rougier
5. McCammon
6. Claridge,

i.e. shit for shit.
