I think he was told after the injury he may need to have it amputated, the recovery he made was miricalous

Shocking injury and he hadn't yet realised it, in this photo.

Shame for the fella.
But anyone who has life-sized angels wings tattoo'd on his back is just asking for trouble.

Have you seen the pictures of the incident?

You are a HARD man not to have serious sympathy for him. Especially after battling back from a similar injury to the other leg. It's not just physical, i don't know how you mehtally recover from something like that happening. It's not as if he was clattered in either incident.

Horrific.

Not seen any piccies of the incident, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone (except Leon). Tis a shame, but I'll have largely forgotten about it after lunch I'm afraid.

Fell out with the coach (along with Pires and Anelka).

The photos of the incident look well nasty, nearly put me off my sandwich.

Apparently Anelka is the likely replacement, but fall out or not leaving Guily out of the squad seems bizarre.

I caught a bit of it on Eurosport last night, and seen pictures on here this morning.

Lunch? I can't face any just yet.

If Henry, Wiltord, and Ribery all broke their legs this afternoon Giuly still wouldn't be called up.

To break your leg like that once is very unlucky.

For it to happen twice- either he needs to increase his calcium intake by about three bottles of milk a day, or think about giving up football.

He's a bit overrated as a player, but wouldn't wish either of those injuries on any striker

Well maybe one...

He wouldn't have got in the team anyway ahead of Trezeguet and Henry?

I dont think so, but apparently he was their top scorer in qualifying? Would have been handy to have on the bench.

While he still has a lot to learn, he could be a very good player, very quick.

I know Giuly is on holiday now but it is bizarre that he isnt going. He is a very good player, and someone that works hard for the team.

Domenech seems to have pissed off quite a few people, not just Anelka.

He was the first choice partner for Henry. Top scorer in qualifying.

They pick him ahead of a regular 20+ goal a season man in Serie A? Fair enough, I find that surprising but obviously Cisse must as you say have been doing something to justify it.

the starting eleven against china was the intended starting eleven for the world cup, so yes he would have started.

Do you think FIFA insisted on a scan to prove the injury before they let France call someone else into the squad ?
