A true gentleman of cricket, often watching his son Robin from the deckies, sad news.

didnt know he was ill, real shame.

If you had seen him in the last 12 months it was obvious he was extremely unwell and you may have noticed how little TMS he had done latterly, as said previously though 67 is no Innings at all these days.....

What terrible news to kick off the year.

When I was at journalism college, The Cricketer was one of the places I did my work experience. I sat next to Christopher and greatly appreciated his kindness, his vast cricketing knowledge and his gentle wit. He was kindness personified to me - the work experience was unpaid but from his own pocket he made sure my transport and food costs were covered.

A truly nice guy and cricket will be much the poorer for his passing.

How very sad. What a wonderful commentator and all-round good egg.
His voice epitomised summer and cricket for me.
Johnners,CMJ,Trevor Bailey and Fred;I do hope you have a good time up there talking about cricket and chocolate cake.
