I remember being offered perhaps my first alcolhlic drink at Christmas. Nothing very exciting as it wa a 'Snowball' basically an Advocaat and Lemonade.

I also remember getting rather giddy drinking Pernod and black quite surreptitiously a year or so later.

What are your early alcoholic muses at this time of winter festival?

I remember, aged about 12, going to my cousin's party. He thought it was funny to let me have bacardi and coke, with an exceedingly large dose of bacardi.
He thought it less funny when I fell over during the conga, staggered to my feet and slammed the door behind them all before falling asleep. So my apologies if you were a resident of St Paul's Street in 1975 and were woken up by a load of drunks trying to get me to open the front door.

When I was a youth I used to enjoy an egg nog with my grandparents on Christmas Eve, and to this day I still have an egg nog on Christmas Eve.

i've heard of Egg Nog, but never tasted it - what is it?

As for my first Christmas alco-drink, it was probably a snowball too

It's a very rich drink made with milk, cream, beaten eggs, cinnamon and sugar, and then add a generous glug of whisky or rum and you're laughing :lolol:

It's the ultimate Christmas drink.
