Following the draw scandal that led to National Lampoons Christmas Vacation being BOOTED OUT due to a draw malfunction, we now bring you what promises to be an EPIC re-match, a battle of the TITANS, a showdown of COLOSSAL proportions.

Many people wanted this to be the final but it was not to be. I give you:

The Snowman
v
Muppet Christmas Carol

for the right to meet the winner of Home Alone v It's a Wonderful Life in the FINAL next week.

Get VOTING

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
How did they both end up in the same group? Surely it should be top vs bottom as they have already played each other..?

A star performance from Gonzo leaves me with only on option...

As opposed to voting for a melting crackpot who 'befriends' a young boy.

Voting for The Snowman = Paedophilia is acceptable

This is going to be very close. I will go for Snowman. I think the winner of this semi will go on and win overall.

If MCC doesn't win this will be the biggest voting outrage since last weekend's Strictly stitch-up.

What the f*** are you talking about? It only qualified for this stage via THE TRADESMAN'S ENTRANCE as it finished a feeble second in the group stage. Behind the true people's champion, THE SNOWMAN.

You MCC people are worst than the honey badger twats of polls gone by. :nono:

Well, whichever one wins this semi will definitely get my vote if its fellow finalist is Home Alone.

The Snowman is original, full of the joys of a child's imagination, and has a meditative quality generally lacking in Christmas films. The Muppet Christmas Carol is occasionally funny but ultimately pointless.

What is this??? The Champions League??? MCC finished second in the group & should have been KICKED out. This rematch is purely a money-making exercise at the expense of us hard-working Xmas film lovers. It's a scandal.

SNOWMAN ME UP

Oh, and for Badger's sake - yes he melts, stop f***ing crying

Just to clarify things, the qualification process was that the group WINNERS x 6 went through to the quarter-finals, along with the TWO best scoring runners-up.

The draw for the quarters and semis was not seeded and completely random, allowing for the possibility that films could could be drawn against others that had been in the same group.

The Snowman thing was an unfortunate cock-up on my part.

Carry on

I fear after a Hiney cock up that momentum may be with The Snowman for a landslide/avalanche victory.

VOTE MUPPETS, IT'S WHAT THE COOL KIDS WOULD DO

Bollocks. Reedy, squeaky-voiced cherub warbling over an old-fashioned animation, clearly aimed at elderly fogeys who can watch it, teary-eyed, nostalgic for a time when 'Christmas was really Christmas'. The only thing it's got going for it is the aerial views of Brighton. Vote for MCC - you know it makes sense.

The Snowman is a true classic of Christmas. It symblolises everything that is special about being a kid and and the joy and fun of Christmas. It also features Brighton, some Snow, some Snowmen, Father Christmas, and some classic blue and white striped pyjamas. This is the true classic of all Christmas films. Its English and we should be proud of it.

The Muppet whatever, however, is a load of old American poo. They have taken a classic English tale written by a legend and turned it into some half witted puppet show.

This battle is a straight choice between American crap or English class.

If you love your country, Vote England, Vote Brighton, Vote SNOWMAN.

It's a little-known fact that in 1843 Charles Dickens wrote a note to his publisher (enclosed with the Christmas Carol manuscript) and said "Don't let anyone make a film of this until Jim Henson invents the Muppets." Sadlly his wishes were ignored, but you can still honour the name of one of England's leading novellists by voting MUPPETS CHRISTMAS CAROL.

Quite wrong I'm afraid Mr long-neck. If it WAS American Rubbish they'd have set it New York or somewhere (like they did with HG Wells' War of the Worlds). At the very least they'd have had an American actor playing Scrooge - they did neither. TMCC actually promotes English culture to Americans and should be celebrated. Also Jim Henson, the creator of the Muppets, was born in Bristol whereas Raymond Briggs is South African!

I see, Henson is a Brit who lives abroad whereas Briggs is a foreigner who CHOSE to settle in God's own county.

Case closed.
