we invited a friend of ours round for xmas lunch , and asked her to bring a bottle of alcohol with her . She turned up with a bottle of vodka . she then for the duration of the day , drank our beers and ate our food , when she left at 10pm she then had the cheek to take her bottle home with her untouched .

Am i right to think is this wrong or am i just being a scrooge?

No I don't think you are mean and your friend was wrong not to contribute to the Christmas meal or drinks. I find myself getting resentful when people do that but maybe the season of goodwill just hasn't got to her yet.:lolol:

Maybe you should have done what I did to the g/f family. They asked if I wanted them to bring anything and I said, yes 2 botles of dry white, 1 bottle of sweet white and 1 bottle of dry red. They then said they were not that good with picking wine, and ask if I would buy them and just give them the bill. Result was 4 bottles of very nice wine and a bill for them of £40.

Flamin' cheek. I wouldn't stand for that, the tight cow.

Be sure to milk her dry next time you see her, and if that means turning up uninvited round her place then make sure you do.

In fact, take a litre of cranberry juice and atack that Vodka as soon as you get in. Perhaps take a friend too, if you aren't likely to finish the bottle on your own.

Cap it off by undoing your belt, letting one rip and announcing "I ain't going anywhere soon" before passing out on her sofa.

When she returns the invite, go armed with nothing, and leave with a bottle of what ever she's got handy.
Not forgetting to smash her place up and blocking her toilet before you depart.
