Just a quick question to Kuzushi. When Jesus was on the cross, why do you think he shouted " my god why have you forsaken me" as I thought he knew this was meant to happen so he would rise again after 3 days.

Returning to this thread after a gap is...well...erm...fascinating. I can't decide if what we're witnessing here is epically successful trolling or someone utterly blind to the immense levels of confirmation bias they are demonstrating.

Very much the latter. Although it’s got so far-fetched recently I’m beginning to wonder….

What do you think about other planets / galaxies / extra-terrestrial life etc? How does that fit in with what the Bible says?

Genuine question by the way, I've often wondered this.
Good question.
As yet we don't know whether or not there is life on other planets.
God is creative and he made everything so it wouldn't surprise me if he had dabbled in a bit of creating elsewhere in the universe. Perhaps he may have done a few things that wouldn't have worked here, such as creatures that would be lethal to everyone, or that breathed some different kind of gas or something.
There are all sorts of theories. I've heard all sorts of things. Some say that the Nephilim came from somewhere else. There are also those that say that aliens are in fact demons. Personally, I tend to stay in the territory of what I can be reasonably sure about, such as the death of Jesus and the fact that his disciples believed that he rose from the dead, as borne out by the fact that his followers founded the church, wrote the New Testament, and spread the gospel even in the face of intense persecution.

Have a look at this, particularly verses 1, 9, 10, 11, and tell me what you think.

This prophecy finds fulfilment in the crucifixion of Jesus.

Time for a Bible quiz now.
Who knows what the forbidden chapter is?

One thing that can be said with a high degree of confidence is that if Jesus did exist, many of the bible stories about him are fake news.
Probability says yes, he existed. Still not a fact though.

But to be honest (bleurgh), I don’t really care either way.

What in your opinion is a fact?
Can you give some examples of things you consider to be facts, and tell us how you know they are facts?

CBA fella, CBA. Enjoy your fishing.
I googled it and it says Commonwealth Bank, which is a weird thing to be a fact.
Then I saw "Can't be arsed."
So not a very dedicated pursuer of truth.

Oi! Say what you like about Jebus, but don't knock Joe - he kept that ridiculous 'Vienna' dirge off number one.
I love Vienna, so dramatic. Dolce was a chancer.

'Dabbled a bit elsewhere in the Universe'? The Universe is unimaginably vast, if there is a God it would be utterly inconceivable if He didn't, surely? In which case, would this not invalidate a lot of what is said in the Bible? Doesn't it say the Earth is the centre of the Universe?

... Mumbled the Jehovah's Witness as he shuffled back up the path after another door was slammed in his face.

There is nothing at all wrong with having faith. If it helps you, then great. However, we are all different and need different things. Insisting that your faith means you know more than others do is, to say the least, a bit wearing. We are all, to an extent, seeking our own truths. They are not your truths. Please accept this and stop haranguing people for being different to you.

Where does it say that?
